R9UKE Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 I'm surprised there isn't already one of these going. It's inevitable that us Shiters will, from time to time, pay some shite it's final farewell. I seem to be doing it quite a lot lately. The idea behind this is to be a one-stop shop to see what exactly is on death row. I recommend perhaps posting a few pictures of the car along with an expected date of decapitation. Shiters can then express interest in whatever bits they want or need and maybe there'll be some shite living a little longer as a result? It's NOT intended to be a money making arena, more of a "it's going over the bridge anyway, but if anyone needs a few bits in exchange for some beer tokens...?" I have two to kick things off. First is my 1997 Volvo S70. It's already shed quite a few parts - off over the bridge on Monday 20th Feb. Next is a pissy Rover 214i. It hit a kerb, as you can see by the front wheel, and is pretty much royally fooked. Look forward to seeing how this progresses.
TimothyClaypole Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 What size tyres do they have (assuming they are any good) ?
trigger Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 That S70 looks pretty tidy, whats wrong with it?
R9UKE Posted February 14, 2012 Author Posted February 14, 2012 Somebody has already bought the Rover's alloys and tyres, but I'll check the Volvo's rims tomorrow. The S70 was great. I put it in for test and it failed on two complete front suspension arms. The car would have owed me £470 after all instead of the £250 that it does now. Probably would have gone ahead with repairs if it wasn't for the intermittent immobiliser fault.
ProgRocker Posted February 14, 2012 Posted February 14, 2012 Real shame about the S70. It looks lighty fine.
