Ian Mac Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 I like 'two door coupe' though... For Sale, Zastava Yugo 311 two door coupe. Excellent...
Ian Mac Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 How many posts do I need to make before I graduate beyond a Toyota Starlet..??? What come next, a Hyundai Pony....
mattblack Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Also, what is the bodystyle officially called? Not sure if it would count as a 3 door hatch, liftback or 2 door coupe? 3 doors, 1100cc = 311
Ian Mac Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Hang on, this is a 313 not a 311?? Slightly confused, according to How Many Left there are no 313's on the system yet your car is showing as taxed until this month. So much for How Many Left.. It looks as if you now own the only known surviving example of a 313 in the UK which makes it a special car and means I will need to contact you to do a feature for our club magazine... You may also be interested to learn that the 313 was the rarest of all Yugos imported to the UK - just 134 examples came here between 1981 and 1991 which means you may have the rarest Yugo in the country. Please keep in contact with our club - this is an important car. Ian
Negative Creep Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 It's badged a 313 and DLVA vehicle check confirms it. Currently on SORN Vehicle enquiryThe enquiry is complete. The vehicle details for A605 VMP are:Date of Liability 01 01 2013Date of First Registration 30 08 1983Year of Manufacture 1983Cylinder Capacity (cc) 1301ccCO2 Emissions Not AvailableFuel Type PETROLExport Marker NVehicle Status SORN Not DueVehicle Colour BLUEVehicle Type Approval Not AvailableVehicle Excise Duty rate for vehicle6 Months Rate £71.5012 Months Rate £130.00 In that case - holy crap!!
Ian Mac Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 Its a rare car mate, well done. Unfortunately in Yugo circles 'rare' doesn't mean 'valuable' but very interesting none the less. Keep me informed of progress and let me have pics as I'm keen to feature the car in our magazine. My email address is [email protected]
eddyramrod Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 My email address is ... Might have been wiser to Pm that info, Ian... anyone can read these pages and they're not all as sane as us! Welcome aboard, by the way.
Ian Mac Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 My zastava club email address is already in the public domain so no worries - my personal addy is a closely guarded secret..!!!! I figure that anyone who emails about Yugos is a bit of a nutter anyhow..
lancashireclamper Posted January 21, 2012 Posted January 21, 2012 How many posts do I need to make before I graduate beyond a Toyota Starlet..??? What come next, a Hyundai Pony.... Exalted status of Austin Maxi is but 85 posts from your grasp

jonny rotbox Posted January 22, 2012 Author Posted January 22, 2012 Well they say you learn something new every day...and today I have found out that I was in possession of possibly the rarest Yugo in the UK!!! That makes me even more glad that it has gone to someone that will hopefully put it back on the road rather than languishing in an old shed with only the prospect of a micro banger meeting to tempt it out, all I ask is that should it be featured in any literature you be sure to mention that it came from a banger racer who likes to see the good ones saved just like the Chrysler Alpine I`m selling and the 1960 fintail Morris Oxford I am currently restoring not to mention the pre facelift mk2 Granada Sapphire awaiting restoration in my garage at home and the mk2 Granada Dorchester limousine that needs a freshen up it can only help to build bridges between the banger community and classic car enthusiasts (of which I am both!) after all not all banger racers are classic car thieving neanderthals
Ian Mac Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 I see both view points and I'm happy to feature the banger racers view in our mag. The problem with Yugos is they have no financial value so we have to rely on people like you to know what to race and what to save. I recently paid £1000 for a 1987 Yugo 513 with 9000 miles on the clock. Imagine how much it would have made if it were a Golf or an Escort...
eddyramrod Posted January 22, 2012 Posted January 22, 2012 rarest Yugo in the country. in that case a pic of the car should be super-imposed next to the 3 cars at the top of the page Agreed! Management, are you listening?
jonny rotbox Posted January 24, 2012 Author Posted January 24, 2012 The BMW and the Chrysler Alpine are both now on ebay so please feel free to have a bid
RedSparrow Posted January 24, 2012 Posted January 24, 2012 Rarest yugo in the country! This place turns up some great stuff sometimes. As weird as the internet is, I often think it must have helped save a few old rare motors.
