Douvrin engine spares - advice required!

Apologies for the slight lack of detail but I wondered whether anyone may have any pointers for a source of spares for the engine of this:

It's a 505 GTI model, with the 2.0 Douvrin, rather than the later 2.2 model. Somehow I managed to buy this turd without noticing a colossal oil leak, coming from somewhere around the distibutor. The means of finding the source were way beyond my abilities so I dropped it off with a mechanic, who's found the source, a buggered oil seal which mates between the oil pump and the distibutor. So far, all that I know is what the guy's told me over the phone, which is that it's dimensions are 40 x 29 - I'm assuming these are mm measurements and that it's a 40mm diameter with a 29mm hole in the middle? Obviously Peugeot NZ couldn't help but they did at least go to the trouble of looking through their microfiche files (!) to try and find a part number but drew a blank. There's a Peugeot specialist in NZ that I have the number for, so will try them in the morning.

I'm going to take some photos of the affected area and the seal and will upload them tomorrow but in the mean time, if anyone has any contact details of helpful specialists anywhere, please let me know. I'm pretty sure these engines were whored around a lot of French chod at the time, so even any details of other models which used this engine would be handy. Not all of them would've been (OMG) RWD but I'm sure they would've shared basic components like an oil seal.

Thanks :)

Fantastic fast responses - many thanks chaps! Dolly, I've had a quick look on that website but it seems as if I'll have to wade through a lot of posts regarding more modern Pugs first. Still, top Googling! Incidetally, I wrote a bit about picking up the 505 here:

DNJ, will give him a call when I'm a bit more clued up, if I get no success locally.

the 2.0lt Douvrin was made up until 1996 and was mostly fitted into Renners -

2.0

The 2.0 L (1995 cc) was an oversquare design with a single overhead camshaft, an 88 mm (3.5 in) bore, and an 82 mm (3.2 in) stroke. It was produced in a variety of configurations:

normally aspirated 8-valve, single-barrel carburetor, 90 PS (66 kW; 89 hp), from 1978 to 1993 (specific to Renault)

normally aspirated 8-valve, double-barrel carburetor, 103 PS (76 kW; 102 hp), from 1977 to 1992 (used by Renault and PSA)

normally aspirated 8-valve, multipoint fuel injection, 120 PS (107 with catalytic converter), from 1986 to 1996 (specific to Renault)

normally aspirated 12-valve, multipoint fuel injection, 140 PS (103 kW; 138 hp), from 1989 to 1996 (specific to Renault)

turbocharged 8-valve, multipoint fuel injection, 175 PS (162 with catalytic converter), from 1987 to 1993 (specific to Renault)

Though somewhat dull (with a 6,000 rpm redline only) and slow to throttle response, the normally aspirated 8-valve versions proved extremely reliable. Mileages of over 300,000 km (190,000 mi) without major repairs are not uncommon. The 12-valvers are much livelier and also boast above-average reliability. The turbocharged versions have only average reliability.

Applications:

Citroën CX

Renault 18

Renault 20

Renault 21

Renault 25

Renault Safrane

Renault Espace

Renault Fuego

Renault Trafic

Peugeot 505

looks like your one is the 103PS...used in some renners up till 1992 - early Espaces and Trafics perhaps

you could always use a beer mat!
