  1. seeing a 2nd lot of photos that scimitar does seem exceptionally clean, excellent paint and a desirable black interior in very good ordermaybe the dealer is right - someone will pay 3.5K for this, a professional polish and valet, 6,000 mile service and a long MOT and this may fetch the asking price.

  2. Would agree with most of the above, just priced a set of rear wheel cylinders for an SE5............£78!

rear wheel cylinders are the same as Marina Van, Viva, Firenza, Ventora and VX 4/90dont know if that helps
  3. se6b's were not all galvanised chassis's - but a B reg probably is2.8 in a scimitar is gutless compared to the essex engined ones (but with a 2.8 you get a better ratio rear diff to cope with the colognes lack of torque.)1.5K is about right, 3.5 is daydreaming117K miles on a cologne is the death knell, expect to spend money on engine /buy another engine before it reaches 130K milesnice paint - but for how long? - GRP scimitars are renowned for their poor paint, and if the bonnet and door are already bubbling, chances are the rest of the car will follow, and they are very expensive to paint properly, but lashing on thick primer will give a great finish..... for about 6 monthsmy advice: buy a 6a (if you really want an se6) get 12 months MOT, half-decent paint, and pay no more than 1k - 6b's are trouble, parts bin specialsi own several scimitars, and run a 6a as a daily - they are a great 2nd car, but expect to be off the road a while if you break something - some spares are not available new, and others you have to get greased up and bent over graham walker's counter to buy - and GW prices are excessivescimitar forums are useful tool, but dont expect to get cheaper parts by joining one of the owners clubs - most are more expensiveparts cars are usually cheap though - you will need at least one :?

  4. just read this whole threadA) the buyer is a tosser trying it onB) PMSL at some of the suggestions C) i agree with most of them, buyer needs to be told to fuck off, if he is silly enough to contact you againD) as you still have the V5, inform the DVLA youve scrapped the car :P i had a similar numpty buy an LPG tank from me a couple of weeks ago, he travelled 30 miles in his 2.8 xr4i to pick up this tank (bringing his car load of dope smoking disciples with him) and proceeded to tell me how he does LPG conversions all the time, and knows all about the regs, can get me a dodgy certificate if i like etc etc. 4 days later he rings my house and says the gauge isnt working, i say okay, i didnt know it wasnt working, bring it back and i will give you a refund. he says (and i had trouble not laughing out loud) he's have moved to Scotland (from Sunderland) and it would cost 50 quid in fuel to bring it back, as the tank cost 25 quid, if i paypal him 25 quid, he will keep the tank and leave positive feedback.i kid you not. i told him to bring it back within 24 hours, or never contact me again. I havent heard from him since

  5. you certainly get about a bit

Yes,being a delivery driver covering an area from Co.Durham up to the Scottish border does have its advantages for shite spotting. :D

  7. after reading page one i thought

    nice one Fred.........

    .......followed by WTF?

and just to clarify - the procedure is: police arrest, present any evidence to the CPS (i.e. a fresh law graduate, or paralegal secretary) over the phone, then the CPS reply by phone within 2 hours (if no reply, then no charge), the CPS (careless paralegal scrotes) are only interested in obtaining a conviction, if chance of conviction less than 60%, then CPS say drop it.

did the plod take a signed statement from you Fred?

or just ask a few questions?

if no statement was taken from you, then no evidence was offered to the CPS, and so they dropped it.

A few photos of the thieving b'stards, and their loot should be enough evidence, together with your signed statement, to prosecute.

I read a piece on london CPS this morning on BBC website- serious failings was the phrase used

  8. you certainly get about a bit - this truck (belonging to the brother of a renouned local hot rod and american car builder) is well hidden
