I been out on the A606-A52-A47 today and kept a ERF-count.

Two EC11 curtainsider rigids working,

One EC11 unit with a bulk tipper

One ECX with a recycling trailer

One fairground EC12 with a gennie on the fifth wheel going through Melton

Not bad for any commercial vehicle from the late 90s-early 2000s. In fact more ERFs than late LDVs!

Going back to the LDV Maxis. I had one to drive for a couple of days back in 2006ish when the company I worked for at the time had there terrible Iveco Daily in for some more repairs. Was only a year or two old at the time. Forget which spec it was but it was the lwb version and found it nice to drive and pulled ok with a full load of car tyres in the back.

Certainly miles better than the Iveco Daily expect that the Daily had more load space. The last Daily I had to drive for 4 years from the company I use to work out tried to set itself on fire! An better than the Vauxhall rebadged Renault master that I drove earlier this year. The turning circle was a joke lock to lock.

My brother in law is a manager at a branch of enterprise/europcar. They got LDV Maxus on the fleet when new. I don't think they lasted long due to things like side doors falling off.

That's what he told me anyway. So it's true. Obviously. Cos he told me like.
