It's time.

 

Its time has come.

 

It's too much corrosion in too many critical areas.

 

It's too far gone to save.

 

It's time to break this and save the bits that can be saved.

 

Basically...

 

It's fucked.

 

I took the spring out of the rear suspension to allow further exploration with the newish 9" grinder that I bought a couple of months ago to do this bit, and I kept cutting into the structure, centimetre by centimetre, to find something to weld on to.

 

Then I noticed the bubbles on another part of the structure.  I hit it with a hammer, and it went straight through.

 

The front 6 inches needs replacement too, but that isn't really MOT-able.

 

I have to bite the bullet, and break it.  I know that so many good wishes about this car have gone before it, but...

 

 

...I feel awful, but oddly relieved.
