Guest Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 I met MM5 at the Trafford Centre so that we could visit the Classic Car Show located nearby. Immediately, problems emerged. The entry fee was extortionate. The venue was depressing. The standard of exhibits varied wildly. The lighting was foul and played havoc with photography. The smell however, was quite acceptable. A few autojumble stands clustered the perimeter of each of the three halls selling the usual selection of epherma tempered with abject tat. The prices remained universally optimistic throughout and the normal car show hubbub was punctuated with the screams of assorted shrieking shitbag kids. There were far too many approximate replicas of Ferraris in the building. Why do these mutant creations attract so much attention? With £20 disposed of far too quickly, MM5 and I headed to the unit. A couple of spots outside the show contrasted strongly with the surroundings. After a hearty Aldi meal of meat of and buns we filled Stockport with blue smoke and trundled fitfully back to the unit. MM5 discovered the 309's rear bearings were out to lunch and it still didn't like starting from hot. He also tried the Mi16 wheels that he purchased off SCTSH_ANDY. 13" wheels off..... Vicissitudes. Mark seemed happy with the fit of the new wheels. Now for the nuts. Yet more Paris-Rhone displeasure. And so on.
Conrad D. Conelrad Posted March 28, 2011 Posted March 28, 2011 Nice pics, but where was this show? I didn't hear about it until I opened pbottomley's thread.

The LEZ was used as an excuse by the organisers to finish with them. I really like that Classic/Capri roofline shot. Shame about the dull sporty things in the background. 1990 called and wants its Mini pick up back etc.

Aye, not pleased about thy rear arm bearing being "PISH", and it didn't start because i was being a mong, as the sticker states on the winderscreen "Fully Depress Accelerator Pedal When Starting From Hot. DO NOT pump" Anyway i'm rather happy with the wheels, just need to buy some Alloy wheel bolts. (And sort them valve stem oil seals)
