Greetings.. I've been a "lurker" for a long time, sorry for the blatant plug for my Skyline, but I know there's a good few enthusiasts for rare-JDM cars out there who might appreciate this sale, hopefully!I'm an Engineer with Nissan in Sunderland and this is the 3rd V35 sedan I've owned, I think they're lovely (but then I am a bit biased)! Here's the link :http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/456768.htmAll the bestChris

That's the problem with selling it to be honest, nobody has seen one. Generally those who search for a Skyline in the UK are looking for something "in-yer-face". This is a low key exec (which most Skylines are in Japan) and it's trying to find the right audience that's the tricky part. It gets loads of attention on the road, especially from Audi drivers. Maybe I should change the badges and advertise it as an Infiniti! My other V35 is the 350 GT-8, with the 3.5V6 and the Extroid Toroidial CVT 'box. It's great, anyone who has drivem a Panda Selecta with the CVT will know what I mean!Cheers

What an interesting machine.GR8 4 RELXD KROOZIN'.Though I suspect that an Extroid Toroidial CVT 'box is something that you have just invented, on the basis that those cannot possible be real words.:wink::wink: :lol:Welcome to the club.

I'd say you probably won't sell it to anyone on here, but to my mind that's a bargain for what it offers. No photos I note, but I assume it's a sort-of four door, longer-nose-and-tail 350Z, right? Toroidial CVT - is that one that doesn't break with alarming regularity then? I know Nissan are still persisting with it.

Yes, it is a 350Z saloon basically, same platform etc.Nissan use the Extronic CVT in the FWD cars, eg Murano, Teana (JDM), Altima (USA) etc. That has the normal kind of belt type CVT see link :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=clqfe8cs1_EThe Extroid CVT uses rollers rather than a belt. It was developed for powerful RWD cars for layout and torque handling and was first used on the Gloria Y34 3.0 V6 Turbo. See link featuring **Richard Branson!** :http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=b9pnem5r1cUIt's a fantastic engineering achievement that means a completely new development of the traction oil, steels etc. But it was hugely expensive, the Skyline V35 was the last car to use it. Fanstastic for Engineers but no so good for the accountants. This discovery channel link (part 1 of 5 below) made in conjuction with Nissan Japan and NSK explains the development process.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sun-ntQhWcwApparently GM were also working on one at the time but this seems to have been dropped quietly. This gearbox drives really well and means my 3.5 V6 gets 30 mpg, as the revs drop to about 2300 at 90mph.. Also it includes a paddle shift with 8 pre-determined steps that change really quickly so it feels like a Manual without the usual CVT slurring.

Well done Reg, for some reason I didn't see those earlier. Looks like a honey to me.Given that VW can no longer quote a delivery time for a TSI-engined Golf Plus with DSG THIS YEAR  , looks like the old man is gonna take delivery of a Qashqai 2-litre with that Xtronic CVT.

and yet 15 yr old Skylines are listed for sale over here at £4 or 5k, we must be being fleeced! What are the prices for Imprezas & EVOs abroad because they stay expensive over here for many years, are we being fleeced with those too? Not that it would surprise me if we were mind!

It's not so much being "fleeced" as moronic benefit-fiddlers happily handing over sums for such vehicles as they have status among similar dead-end tosspieces.

Had a look at impreza's for you MrRegieRitmo but nearly 1000 listed, all different specs so I will give you the site to have a wander about and look at what you cannot have.Divide $$$ by 2.5 to get pounds.www.trademe.co.nz
