nope - no tach on this guy but I will suggest he grows one. My office is at the Spagetti Bay Business Centre across the road from Asda so the place youre talking about is round the corner - if I get some dosh together i might outsource this bit so maybe an XUD is the way to go - B series ain't exactly quiet themselves and like you say, i could always add insulation in the engine bay there is heaps of space

Ahh, the old 'terminal building' from when it was an airfield! The two independants in the industrial estate - R+A Autos and Westgarth's - are good, but probly wouldn't do an engine swap. In fact, I know R+A won't even do engine work any more, and Westgarth's is usually forward booked for weeks/months.

There is a very outside possibilty that N+T might be up for it. If the workshop's quiet, they have been known to do jobs for cash, to keep busy - so long as it goes under the bosses' radar. They sorted the cracked x-member on the LDV I bought off them, with a lovely bit of welding. If you've seen the quality of the stainless fabrications sitting in the yard, you'll get the idea!

Hey, Bol. Can I deffo put your name down for this mongo engine? I have a queue of potential buyers with CASH WAITING who need it for their Ital conversions.

Ah shit.

I can muster a couple of hours one night this week.. Is it at your house?

This thread is QUALITY.. it is exactly like reading my PMs.

Scooters.. if you want it, and can come and get it I have a 1800 "Gold Seal" B series here that didn't fit the somerset.

that would be GR* SCO!

My one has done 91k and fitting a goldseal would be a good idea I can then keep my engine as a spare or rebuild and sell on - how much would you like for it? where are you based? and are you able to hold it for me for a month or so so I can get the dosh together?

I't should fit in the back of a 240 or an 850!

cheers

North west durham. You only have to scrape together petrol money, you can have the engine for free. No problem keeping it for while longer (it's been sitting in the corner for about a year now, so no huge hurry).

much appreciated - I'm down there a lot as the inlaws live in Durham City

will send you a pm

Wow, thats very generous SOC! Sounds like this story is going to have a happy ending!

Well, I have no use for it - it didn't fit the somerset! I have no plans to get a sherpa (van or coupe) and I'd rather see it go to a good cause than over the bridge.
