Pesky booster fans

I think I have been cursed .

 

The booster fans on the Allegro and 14 only work on speed 2. This is not a problem on the 14 as even at fairly low speeds enough heat gets into the cabin to keep in warm and demisted. The Allegro is useless, speed 2 just pushed cold air through the vents, even with the heater on hot, the only way I can get hot air into the car is drive fast with the fan off, all the vents seem pretty small and crap on the Allegro. Do any other Allegro owners find their heaters are efficient?

 

Now the Pug 206 has joined in, only working on speed 4 which is really loud and is like sitting in a gail force storm .

 

This may be a stupid question, but is it generally a problem with the motor or the switch in these cases?

 

Any advice would be gratefully appreciated!

It's usually the ballast resistor at the motor end that's at fault.

Usually the dropper resistors going open circuit. They get very hot and are usually positioned in the air flow of the motor to offer some cooling.
