Mr_Bo11ox Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 There was a dark red one on Ebay in decent but off-the-road nick a few weeks back, I think he had a 1200BIN on it, no one bit so he auctioned it then pulled the auction at about £700.
Mr_Bo11ox Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 Admittedly the blue one looks lovely mind you.
Bfg Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 £3000 is imo a daft price for a base spec., 1980's., mass produced., non-standard car.., which has a poor reputation., is not-roadworthy., that needs a 'bit of investment' !? ..and is without an MOT. But of course it is only imo The Reverend Bluejeans and NorfolkNWeigh 2
trigger Posted August 23, 2016 Author Posted August 23, 2016 I think it's too much too but he did say that he's driven it up and down his lane and is expecting to take a offer on the price.

Thing is, they weren't that good when new, had a dire reputation used and were near enough valueless in the 1990's. They haven't improved in the intervening 20 odd years either. £3000? No. You could buy something really good for that or at least a six/eight cyl one. trigger 1
The Reverend Bluejeans Posted August 23, 2016 Posted August 23, 2016 The fact that most people still bang on about how shit these are and I should have bought a Mercedes is one of the many things I like about my SD1. I don't care what it was like under warranty - it's nearly 40 years old now so that's just irrelevant. I put a longer, better argued and more eloquent post on here yesterday but it got deleted and I can't be arsed to write it again. I would cross a busy road to admire a stainless bumpered SD1, a really great looking car. I worked on these during by BL apprenticeship and wanted one despite knowing just how bad they could be - really, really grim. What year is yours?
