garethj Posted December 21, 2010 Posted December 21, 2010 It's an excellent film, I prefer Monte Carlo or Bust because it's got Tony Curtis who's brilliant on every level. Most filming for Those Magnificent Men was done in Bedfordshire I believe, where the R101 hangers are. The chippies who built the "Brooklands" banking must have retired as rich men with the overtime. I think all the planes were replicas, you can see some modern engines underneath the plywood and fibreglass. The Shuttleworth museum in Bedfordshire has at least one of the planes on display.
