My mum was responsible for getting one of those created.

Lets go back to 1989, dad was eligable for a company car but really fancied smoking around in a 5 year old XJ6 8) so he bought one and then told the misses  that she could have anything she wanted off his company car list! The problem was that he needed to get rid of her e-reg Metro Studio2 that she bought spanking new to fund his recent Jag splurge.

She was furious but realised that she had already lost the battle, so out of nothing but spite said she fancied a BXGTi in silver which was on the company car list but that it had to be automatic which was only available on special order. It eventually arrived in 1990 at which point she declared victory in the war.

I ragged it all the way to le Mans and back in 91. Fast car crippled by slushbox shocker

I like the auto, ive had quite a few, its a ZF 4 speeder and are very reliable and suit the wafty BX'ness, they do sap a bit of power but not that much.

It certainly kept up with a v6 Marcos thingy whose driver offered to show me the way from Caan to Alencon before taking off like he stole the bloody thing. Handled nice too

I love the BX but the preferred the manual at the time. I foolishly offered to swap the rotton front subframe on my brothers dizzler BX - definately the worst job I have ever done on any car

Subframes ok on this one, and theres a spare if anyone needs it!

You might also try an ad on the BXClub, where they appreciate these motors. I'm sure there would be some interest there.
