Is there a wheel expert in the house?

Hi all,

My 6 estate needs wheels with a PCD of 5x114, with an offset of 35 to 45....Apparently.

There are some wheels I'd like to get for it....If I can find some....But whilst they are 5x114, the offset is 55mm.

What does this mean? Would they merely stick out by a few mm, or would they foul the suspension or summat? :?

They'll sit inboard by 10-20mm - whether that fouls the suspension will only be discovered by test fitting.

Your Mazda will have the same 5 stud pattern as almost all Jap cars, you should be able to find wheel very easily

Thanks chaps....The current 16" alloys are looking a bit tatty, so was thinking of trying to find a set of the 16" steel wheels that were standard fitment on the NC MX-5 for it....Should make it look a little different, and in keeping with the utilitarian nature of my 6's duties.... :)

5x114.3 is the same as all 5 stud Skylines, Lexus LS400, Toyota Supra etc so you have a massive choice from 16" diameter upwards, I paid £205 for a set of KEI 18's last year, they were on an LS400 and although they needed tidying up they cost the guy £850 new!

18 feet wheels? I think that's taking 'donk' too far.

I can't comment on a 6, but I ran some 16x8J FD3S RX7 wheels on my MX-6, they were around ET50, and I had to run 3mm spacers to give me more than the gnats cock of clearance I had bolting them straight up, between the strut and the inner rim / tyre. They sat really nicely in the arches and didn't rub.

I imagine the MX5 wheels won't be as wide, and may just sit too far inboard and look a bit daft...
