Buying your first shite - 1999

Haven't got anything to do today, so I tidied my loft and found some auld crap, including my scanner power thing.

From Top Gear magazine, October 1999. Some typically hilariously obvious observations from Quentin "I'll work £200 quid an hour" Wilson.

£2000 budget

Fack, I could barely scrape £400 together when I was 17.

Nor me, and that's how it should be! Spend as little as possible on a "first car" and the next five or six... learn from each one, and NEVER sign up for six years of payments on a stupid fucking Saxo!!!!

Not my first car, but one of them, my brother and his wife bought a mk3 1.1 Fiesta Popular for about 2,000 off my other brother. The gearbox went, so they left it on my folk's driveway, and said if I can fix it I can have it. It cost about 120 quid for me! Yay! Brother/wife non too happy.
