motoring mayhem 'might' end up in sale of Daf44

All,

I may potentially be selling the 44.

Here's why -

I am getting it in the neck from her indoors about classic cars and spending time with the kids - one of the reasons why I am on the prowl for a classic camper van. Now as we all know classic campers are overpriced and also require an astonishing amount of upkeep as their car components struggle to cope with several hundredweight of plywood and vinyl so such a purchase will soak up an amount of my car budget.

Secondly, at the moment I need to keep both the 850 and the BMW on the road wor k work purposes and whilst they are cheap to buy they are not cheap to run.

IF I do go ahead with a camper van purchase then there is a strong possibility that I will be forced to sell the DAF as it probably won't get used - the camper van will have to be used as they fall to bits quickly if not.

I am unlikely to actively advertise the Daf but if anyone really really really wants one then it is a solid example with 11 months MOT and 5 months tax and I would be open to offers in the region of £600

there...I've said it

lots of more info about this car on this site just seach under my name

i owned a daf 66 for a while, so much fun, always said i'd go back to a variomatic one day.

is the car in edinburgh?

I could well be interested if the car was in Harpenden - I still miss my little 33. Edinburgh might be a bit far though.

Registering my interest.

Need to see if the wife would like it.

Don't know too much about them, but like the quirkyness of them.

Edit:

Have been reading some of your excellent posts and looking at the recent pictures that you took.

I think myself and Scottee (Hilman Imp) plus the wife might well take a punt. I think Scottee has sent you PM.

Would be nice to keep it in the autoshite family eh? :)

Update:

Myself and Hilman Imp have put down a deposit on the car and should be picking it up in a couple of weeks.

Bought it unseen, but have looked at so many pics and read so many posts about it that I feel like I have checked it over quite thoroughly!

Cool!

There's a lot to this idea of just passing cars around between us. Stops having to deal with ebay mouthbreathers, and who else is a car like this going to appeal to, except others on here?

Perhaps some kind of library card system?
