Someone offering a twin engined (but 2CV engines so less power than a single A-Series) kit here. More interesting is the Mehari kit, just a shame that 2CVs are so expensive.

Sadly, I'm not sure any of their cars exist in real life - all concepts that they want funding for! Shame as I'd love a mildly upgraded engine for my 2CV...

I would love a Mehari. Absolutely love one. Trouble is, it'd be absolutely useless 99% of the time in this country.

Not entirely true. I know several people who use them regularly, albeit not generally in the winter. One has even bounced his off several modern cars (their fault not his) and has very little damage to show for it! Bouncy plastic... (when it's warm!).

 

It's better than a 2CV in some ways because you can remove the doors and sidescreens and get a good airflow while still keeping the roof on to protect against sun or that all too frequent rain.
