Saab 900 Carlsson for sale

Not Shite but thought I might stick it up anyway

I found out today that I have been granted my visa to Australia to live. Means that I will have to sell my carlsson.

Only 200 of these produced in go faster balck.

It has standard Carlsson spec including Red Box APC, Leather seats with Suede inserts, Carlsson steering wheel, 3 extra Saab gauges, rear wash wipe, whale tail and décor panel. It is a second car for me and I have only done 3k miles in the last year.

Good bits

• Service history from 1991 to 2004 (after that just receipts for work). I serviced it last in September including HT leads etc.

• Stack of receipts from all owners

• Recon gearbox fitted by previous owner (no receipt but it feels fantastic - although I was going to fit a short shift)

• MOT June 2011 – Flew through no hassle

• Tax (will have to check but think it is 4 months)

• Drives excellently - no steering groans or moans

• Clifford Cat 1 alarm fitted (2 fobs with it)

In the last year I have done the following;

• New battery

• New Water Pump, thermo switch and Thermostat (89 degree)

• Fitted 2nd Hand rad fan

• New clutch including release bearing

• New clutch master and slave cylinder

• Jamsaab Braided clutch hose

• New Belts

• New alt regulator fitted

• Fully Rustmaster treated (3 weeks ago) with guarantee for 5 years (cost £400). When they had it up on the ramps and had steam cleaned the underneath I had a look and it looked mint.

• Fitted P6000’s to front tyres (rears are 5mm tread)

• New bumpers fitted front and back

• Bonnet rust cut out and repaired, bonnet completely re sprayed by bodyshop

• Rust by rear lock cut out and re sprayed by bodyshop

• Oil changes every 6 months

• Fitted new oil temp sender

• Fitted clear side repeaters and front indicators

• New ariel mast

Sitting here waiting to be fitted are a variable wiper relay, new side carpet for the boot (the current one is ripped) and a second hand exhaust (was an advisory on MOT)

Got a box of spares to go with the car including spare coil, alternator, APC valve. Will chuck in a Haynes and a Bentley to go with it

Bad bits (including me being very picky)

• Headlining is rubbish. Previous owner did it in Suede and it looks pants. Sunroof lining has come down and been cut away

• Heat has put two small cracks on the dash top

• Door bottoms are rusty

• Cruise doesn’t work

• A few stone chips on bonnet

• Rear Décor has a crack in it (Car wash managed to break it today!)

• Front Bumper was reversed into so needs sanding and filling

• Rear bumper has a scrape by someone again in the car park

• The plastic handles on the seats fell off (was waiting to replace them)

• Front Fogs need connecting

• Stitching on drivers seat is coming loose

•

It is a fantastic car and I am really gutted to sell it. It is my dream car and I had planned on keeping forever. I have had 3 people stop me in the last week to talk about the car!

Looking for about £2750

moog - don't sell her - take her with you

rust won't get any worse out there and there is enough classic saab interest out there to keep her on the road - ship her - probably looking at a few hundered max and better tan driving some americam GM/Ford mince once out there....

quite why you want to go to Australia is beyond me BTW you do realise that there are creatures in the antipodes that can actually KIll you? snakes, spiders and sharks, nasty plants.....I'll stick with me tea and Mr kiplings thanks very much!:D

Just come to NZ instead, less things that can kill you and more comedy wildlife. Also that car is lovely and if I could I would. Not that it helps you at all
