Imagine if say, Andy Rouse, at the height of his BTCC racing success, had suddenly gone all New Age and insisted on gluing boxes of crystals and magnets to his car to 'align the molecules' according to 'orgone energy' principles and running his racing tyres at really low pressures, causing the rest of his teammates to quit in bafflement and the manufacturer team to give him the heave-ho because they thought he'd lost his mind, effectively losing his job and all his sponsorship deals.
