MrRegieRitmo Posted May 17, 2010 Posted May 17, 2010 Anyone else's misbehaving?? It's only loading a handful of my pics both within Photobucket & when viewing any of my threads where I've posted pictures! Frustrating isn't the word...
MrRegieRitmo Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 You might be getting close to your monthly quota.I haven't uploaded anything for a couple of months. My last action on there was actually upgrading to Pro which was also a couple of months ago & haven't touched it since.Incidentally having a Pro account means I can obviously upload a lot more, I scored a year's free subscription on it but I'll have to pay to renew it next year. What happens if you use some of your increased storage but then don't renew it....do they delete a load of your pictures or something!?
Jack_Harpers_Teeth Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Really slow on Monday evening but ok last night. Dunno, bit like old cars I guess, works fine sometimes, yet other times....
saabhappy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I use a pro account and I've noticed the same problem as ReggieRitmo and others. I wonder if American peak times and high usage have an effect. They also have a habit of changing the order of downloading pics now if you're doing a series, supposedly to gain speed but when you're a coffin-dodger like me it can be a bit muddling.
saabhappy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 It's a bit eccentric sometimes - it takes ages to download somethng then another day it's like greased lightning.
Guest Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I thought it was just me. I reckon they were fiddling with the servers or something. When I dug up the Bugs link it would only display one photo from the thread. I tried to upload 6 photos from the BKV I went to. They took an age to get on and then the album shell would only display one. The settings for each shot decided to overlay themselves as well, although I suspect that may be something to do with the pish version of Firefox I'm using. My account is a standard one. It's near the limit now, and it's taken me three years to fill it, so I'll purge the default folder in a couple of months and leave it be.
saabhappy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Or you could open a new free account using another e-mail address...
MrRegieRitmo Posted May 18, 2010 Author Posted May 18, 2010 Go to the upgrade to Pro page on Photobucket, then navigate away from it as if you're not interested, then it will suddenly tell you how to get it for free. You just complete one of the offers, I chose the one for Credit Expert which gives you your credit report ratings & a lot of other stuff. You have to register using your payment card but they give you 30 days free (after that it's £7.99 a month), so just let it run & cancel it before the 30 days is up. In the meantime you will be given a free upgrade to Photobucket Pro for a year, once they've verified you completed one of the offers. I've actually let the Credit Expert thing continue as it's a pretty useful thing to have in it's own right
saabhappy Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 Coo! Wish I'd known that before I coughed up full whack. I got Anti-Virus proection like that, but it was AVG and it wasn't very effective.
myglaren Posted May 18, 2010 Posted May 18, 2010 I now find Photobucket to be unusable, page freezes on attempting to upload anything.Good job I have Flickr and Image Shack accounts
