In that case, STOP POSTING HOW BAD IT LOOKS IF YOUR NEVER GOING TO FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF

Ooh-er!

I was there, and the event where I bought various useful car-related items was definitely an autojumble.

Price of said items + £1.50* entrance money = far below the typical costs, from eBay, of same items.

Conclusion: Worth the trip over there as even the petrol cost didn't erode too greatly any profit that I'd be into, were I to re-sell said items on the 'bay, which isn't the plan in any case, but if it were....

I tipped up late and the price had already been lopped, that seemed like proactive event management to me.

OK, so I know the bloke in charge from other fora and events too, but I'd never let that get in the way if I believed that harsh criticism were required 'cos tact isn't something I do.

maybe some have mistaken a quest for information as some kind of pre-fight amble, but i was hoping PS would give us a little more info about the event/s.

I thought (As PS's relation holds boot sales at the venue at other times), advertising would be widespread and traders and buyers from all over the north east would flock after reading or hearing that a new event in the autojumble calender had begun at a familiar venue.

No-one i have spoken to has mentioned this event (apart from RR members) as no-one locally seems to have been told or read about it.

and to have an autojumble just after scorton seems to have affected trade

i assumed, perhaps niavely, the PS would have sussed any date clashes for both buyers and sellers, and pre-booked traders (possible discount/hard sell opportunity) from the previous event. so would have a rough idea how many were coming

i didnt attend either events, as i havent got the time, thats why im interested in feedback from the events. as autumn arrives in a will be looking for an autojumble to unload some spares. A lot of spares.

if i come in after a hard day grappling with a scimitar with 40 year old nuts and bolts and read this:

Here is an idea A5, try actually 'going' to an event before slagging it off

then i respond - with the only facts i have gleaned from 2 forums, a very odd advert on ebay and speaking to one atendee face-to-face.

but, on reflection my reply was over the top, but it was a reply.

ive finished talking about this event now - (but im not 'in a huff' about it, just finished asking questions.) I didnt intend to turn PS's thread into an arguement, just wanted more info, next time i ll say please when i ask a question.

Your right we didnt advertise it enough, we only put adverts in - Classic Car Weekly, The Autojumbler, Chronicle Extra, Chronicle Motoring, News Guardian, Herald and Post, Hexham Courant, Shields Gazette, Morpeth Herald, on the Morgans yearbook website, over 250 adverts in shops around the North East, over 300 clubs, and on 50 online forums.

Silly us for doing SOOO little advertising.

Well, you obviously missed the "Grumpy Sarcastic Yorkshireman's Gazette (incorporating T'Internet windup merchants Quarterly)" because it's the only paper Autofive reads.

Want any guest speakers for your lesson?

I was at AV Taylors buying parts for something or other and one of the guys in there asked whether I knew about this. That was before the first one, so word had certainly filtered down when even the busy staff of the famous, international (Shields Road, West Road and Ashington....) purveyors of automotive spare parts were talking about it. 8)
