Two wheeled shite at the seaside.

Went on my first scooter run yesterday to (not very) sunny Llandudno. There was a classic car show there and it was also Victorian weekend, but the scooters pretty much took over the place, there was hundreds of them. I didn't get a chance to wander round the showground which was a shame as it seemed ram full of old trucks, steam engines and cars.

Bog break on way into Llandudno, my only (and pretty lame) shot of the front...

So on to the two wheeled shite...

And this was something else. Rumours were abound the owner had spent £25,000 on it, whether it was true or not I don't know but it was absolutely stunning, and I don't even like The Beatles. Trailer queen job though, got bought down in a van where most of the others were ridden down apparantly...

We had a nice run down, avoided large chunks of the A55 and cut through Holywell, Rhuddlan, Abergele, Colwy and Colwyn bay etc instead. Must have done a good 120 miles all in and it was bloody great fun. The sound of two stroke engines (most with expansion pipes) bouncing off walls was CLASS.

Great pics,I'll always have a soft spot for scooters even though the Vespa 90 I had 25-odd years ago was the slowest thing I've ever been on/in

I drove through here about the same time last year and they had the same thing on with the same trucks!

There have been some cracking old trucks trundling down the A55 since Wednesday, heading to this. I nearly crashed the van on several occassions trying to peek at them through my mirrors

Wow, some of those scoots look.... interesting. Would airbrushing "Mad Max" onto a Scooter at no point occur to the artist/owner as a slightly silly idea?? Who is the chap in the first airbrush one?

First one is Ray Winstone iirc, there were scenes depicted from the film 'Scum' painted on it.Mad Max did seem an odd choice for a scooter but it seems the whole scooter thing is SRSLY diverse these days though. Bikers, punks, skinheads, scooterboys, mods, ska-boys/girls etc are riding them now.Oddly enough we got plenty of friendly waves from bikers on the way/way back, where 30 years ago and more they'd have probably rather booted us off.
