Part ot the reason for the demise of the local

vehicle industry might be attributed to this copy?

of something we all know and some even love

some of the older viewers may notice the Skoda Octavia hubcaps

Skoda swing axle rear and the full 2wd. you can't see the Skoda

Power plant ! I give you the TREKKA...pure sh-t

Came acros this real rarity for sale . what is it :?::?:

CLUE  described as AUSSIE MUSCLE by seller :D

Posted Image

Posted Image

Some of you might even say I WANT IT :!:

answer later

Posted

An overwhelming response was not noticed :!:

The Morris Marina Six

Yes the seller used the words above to describe it

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted

There was me thinking it was a P76, 'cos the 2.6 E-series lump doesn't look all that tightly packed into the Marina's engine bay. Fantastic though!

Posted

r,welfare...the six does fit quite well in the Marina.Seems the only major was to shift the radiator forward and probably some alteration to suspension etc. I believe they understeered badly like the Cortina 4L six did..it was legendary !

Posted

Grille makes it look a bit like an early-70s Corolla.

Posted

I was thinking the same thing, or maybe a bit earlier - looks a lot like the KE10 grille to me.

Posted

Absolutely love that Trekka, especially the Town And Country tyres on the rear

Posted

I think the grille was projected out to fit the radiator on the Marina

Got some truckie type shots for you

All except 1 from ad's here

Posted Image

AND THE ENGINE BIT!

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

AND SOME INTERNATIONAL HARVESTERS I SAW YESTERDAY(sorry about the last pic but I was shaking by then. There was another fully restored in a shed that I could not get to )

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

A SUPER SNIPE FOR SALE, ad said the engine was reconditioned, may need new plug leads to start.....

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Do the black bits in the rear floor have anything to do with the rear of a RAT

And a bit of non-tat (expensive non-tat)

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted

Saw this advertised on www.trademe.co.nz long list of add-ons

etc and not a bad price ! 2000. pounds

Posted Image

Posted Image

Posted Image

BUT THIS IS WHAT YOU ACTUALLY GET

Vanity plate too :!:

Posted Image

ee by gum that 525 E28 is nice! (what's with the extra 'e'?)

Posted Image

If the R14 was modelled on a pear, then those Toyotas were surely modelled on pineapples??! :D
Posted

MrRegieRitmo...I'm not that up on old BMW's so can't answer your query, but will see if any others are EE's , and as for the toyota it

cannot be modelled on a pineapple because toyotas have the pricks on the inside.

Only a sad 1985 cressida today followed by a vauxhall that was our esteemed Prime Ministers dads car when new.

Not sure. We had Cressidas if that's what you mean? We need one of the Jap experts to chip in here!

Saw a Citroen C6 today. It certainly made me sit up and look at it. Checked out Citroen NZ website and only available on pre-order at basic price of $109,000.00.= 43500 pnds .Impressive looking car but apparently let down by some detail problems. Probably a true Citroen then. :)

We didn’t get that generation of Cressida, no. Have seen the odd South African import version here though, plus there’s the odd Cresta/Mark II badge-engineered example too.

Haven't seen a Renner 12 for years. saw a blue one yesterday, even had some kind of wooden roof rack....no camera at ready. Today saw another one , white this time. Photos to come

Posted

Here's the 12 and a Debonair that has been eluding me for months (the only one i've ever seen). Now to spot the 404 and the Beige Mitsi that float around.

Posted Image

That Debonair proves it's hip to be square.D'you know if Renault assembled cars in NZ, Stuno? If not I reckon that Douze will be an Oz-built one.

Posted

Check that Debonair! Splendid. Using one of those as a daily automatically renders anyone as COOL AS A MUTHA FU##A.

Posted

I think I've sussed why they gave it such a squared-off arch at the back - if they'd given it a round profile you wouldn't know which was the front or the back as otherwise it's remarkably symmetrical...
