these diesel heater things look really good, some people have been routing the exhaust thru old central heating rads for getting more heat per diesel. anyone ran one on veg oil yet?

I wouldn't go anywhere near that. They work, are very efficient as is. Of course you have to make sure the exhaust goes out into the atmosphere otherwise you'd die of carbon monoxide poisoning - same as any fuel combustion in a small area.

Haha, I'd not seen this when I posted the last 2 messages grizz. Getting it working right they are bloody great. Sips diesel. You'll find you are too warm in your new insulated super shed.

EDIT: Pls don't bother pissing about with rads for extra* efficiency. You can't do shed videos when you aren't here. You'll be able sell the oil filled radiator too.

We were fitting a diesel heater to the “Top Secret Shed”over the weekend

I do love a knife. 
I love useful knives. 
Buddy Fil saw my envious eyes and gifted me this one.

So back to the Top Secret Shed Build.

 

Things started to take a turn.

 

Not for the worst but certainly interesting.

 

After a couple of discussions with friends etc I decided to see if I could make a significant, unplanned change to the way I was building the shed.

 

So I started to look for a wooden bed frame.

 

Found one “FREE” on FB marketplace

 

When I contacted the seller, she was slow in responding. So I asked her about collecting.

 

Her next response really pissed me off.

 

The “FREE” bed frame was still “free” but her husband wanted £10.00 to dismantle it for me to collect.

 

I really hate scammers.

 

And they knew I knew BUT……..

 

I couldn’t buy the wood for £10.00

 

Fetched it.

 

Brought it home

 

Disassembled it all

 

Cut smaller to size

 

Reassembling it was good.

 

Then made it all fit in the shed the next day.

 

Managed to destroy my electric hand planer. Don’t even ask. No idea.

 

Anyway, got stuff done.

 

 

Oh, and I got gifted a beautiful solid oak bed, which is now in my one spare room.

Electricity added. 

Including a proper cable, trip box or RCD. 

Also added blackout curtains, small side supported table. 

Shed got a name plate.

Whatever else…….

Christmas came and went. 

And suddenly I had to help out a couple of Irish guys, down here to work on the electrical system of the LNG plant  

They could not find anywhere to stay in a 20 mile radius from where they work  

I had one room for a lodger and a ‘Lil Shed room not ever slept in or planned for a lodger  

Planned for friends like @CraigRK and @Westbay or even mate Woodsie to sleep in rather than on the couch when both my rooms were taken by lodgers. 
 

So I said to them it was 100% risky but clean, with an oil filled radiator and lots of blankets….. and at -3’C it would be interesting  

Well, Keith survived two nights  

His human guinea pig feedback made me get mate Fil @sparkplug to help me choose and buy and then he came down from Cambridge to fit a Chinese Diesel Heater  in the ‘Lil Shed  

 

I guess this build is kinda done now

With the woodwork shed suddenly becoming a sheep shed, I meant sleeping shed and having an emergency paying guest test it out during the coldest nights in a year….. in -3’C it was decided by my sensible side and discussions with two good friends, Martin and Fil that a Chinese diesel heater would probably give me much better heat at less than 25% of an electric oil filled heater. 
 

So I put @sparkplug Fil in charge of purchasing the new equipment and ancillaries. 
 

Three days later he left his home in Cambridge with the outside temperature showing at -6’C   My driveway was showing-5’C when he arrived. 
 

So after the customary exchange of gifts, junk and insults, we had a cuppa tea and discussed his plan for the day. 
 

Then we headed out to the garage and shed to get the Maxpeedingrods Chinese Diesel Heater unboxed. 
 

This was a great opportunity for me to actually see what I had bought with Fils advice.

It is my first unboxing video and I am very pleased with the way Fil got it done and explained it all.
