Coach needed in Doncaster

For a fashion shoot on Monday. The production co wants either a 70s/80s single decker coach or double decker of the same age. Anybody?

Not quite 70's or 80's but a local bus for local people!

No it isn't, but you know what they are like, it's a red double decker so it must be a routemaster....

Nice find Fred. Did you know that used to be a trolleybus?

 

Got a later double decker for future reference but it's all lettered up for Quit smoking and pootling around the Bury area at the moment.

No I didn't know it was a trolley bus! They wanted something plain. Or maybe single decker, do you know anybody with one of those?

Well, the body was once, anyway The story was that once Doncaster finished their trolleybus system, some of the buses had nearly new bodies on them with lots of life left. Instead of throwing good money away they bought some new motorbus chassis and put the trolleybus bodies on them. You could always tell them apart from normal bodies by the thick first side pillar upstairs. That was originally so the cables from the roof mounted booms had somewhere to go.. (anorak off)Don't know of a single deck I could lay my hands on but the Sheffield bus museum lads are a good bunch and should help you out.
