Additional Information:

My 1955 Series 2 2 door saloor is up for sale at a bargain price of £1750.

The car has been in weekly use since November but if I am honest I cannot justify keeping her - I have 6 other cars and my resources are getting stretched - I simply do not use her enough and would rather she goes to someone who will use her. I feel my interest in KIT is towards the more modern and with a 400 mile weekly commute, 2 kids under 3, a dog, a house to run and a load of kit to maintain I do not have the time to enjoy her or use uer let alone maintain her.

OK - here is the low down:

registered in November 1955, original number plate (Sheffield)

Uprated rear shocks - more modern handling

New exhaust (1 year ago)

4 good tyres

Screw on oil filter conversion

Electronic ignition

The rear axle and brakes are 8" drums as per Minor 1000

indicators

oil and water gauges

12v fag lighter (needs earthed)

no radio

front and rear intertial seat belts ( front ones will be fitted - read ones will be included in sale to fit)

new choke cable

reconditioned gear box fitted in November

new clutch fitted in november

indicators as well as trafficators

new old stock off side wing fitted in November - painted and rustproofed

1000cc engine - strong and in good condition - makes it more uselable in modern traffic

overtaking mirror fitted to side window frame (so you can at least see what is going on behind you.

Quality coil (very important)

new washer motor (need fitting)

very solid bodywork for a 55 year old car

not so good bits

small (1 inch) rust patch on the bottom of the boot lid

small amount - 1/2 inch of bubbling along a rain gitter

floor will need rustproofing as winter has taken its toll - no holes though

needs a new battery - I will fit one before the car is sold

needs a waterbottle for the window washers - any plastic bottle will fit!

slight water ingress from poorly fitted screen rubber and missing outer chrome screen strip

nearside front wing is fair but probably has a couple of years in it before it will need replacing

The interior is in pretty good condition for a car of this age except for a split on the driver's seat.

the chrome has suffered a bit this winter - not rusty but a bit tarnished -

This car is a great example of a useable Series 2 Split Screen and I am offering it at a bargain price. It is not concourse but is a very solid and useable daily classic witht he patina of daily use.

Here are some not very good photos of the screen being replaced 2 years ago - I will get some more ones up in the next few days. the photos reflect the car's condition - the one of the floor under the rear seats was taken last summer and will be solid but will probably need a post winter clean and rust proof.

That's lovely. 1098 makes it super-useable as well. Good luck with it!

yes - you are quite right DW - it has a 1098cc engine from a Morris 1000 - bullet proof A class

Looks very nice. Do like a black car with a red interior. Good luck with the sale.

unsold at £1050....lots of messages from the 2 leading bidders about what it is worth and how I'd be lucky to get "1100" for it 'cos PC sez this and that....amazing how they can judge the condition of the car from a photo!! - also, I know my shite and this is a C1 rather than a C2 by gloverian standards at least! Anyway, not going to relist it at the moment - I will hold onto it and enjoy it for a while

Right to hold on to it I think. Definitely worth more than £1050! If you fancy an exchange for a slightly iffy Saab 900 (it'll have a new caliper next week hopefully) let me know! (Yeah, real temptation!)

Charming car. I can understand prioritising the others though, especially the DAF project.Good luck with the sale! Someone will get a really sharp Morris and from the sound of it, a good price too.

If you did a monthly payment scheme I'd have it tomorrow  ...sadly I'm too skint to buy it outright at the moment

nice car, though I found morris owners the most anal picky bunch ever verging on OCD when trying to sell a mates car....

I feel your pain, try Land Rover Series 2 owners  Good luck scooters that's ace, be nice if it goes to someone who uses it too.
