Beyond Lacquer Peel

Full on paint peel.  The whole car has been painted at some time in its life, before we got it.

We knew it had had some paint and back in 2014 when it joined us, the signs of poor paint were beginning to show, especially the bonnet.  But it was priced accordingly.

Eventually the paint left the bonnet, which was clearly a replacement and had been painted over the storage primer.  

A second hand bonnet in matching colour solved that issue, especially as flying motorway debris had put a dent in it.

More recently, the rpaint has been falling off the roof side rails in chunks.  The corresponding rust patches and stains were looking proper bad.  Driver was getting fed up of folk pointing out the very obvious.

Car really needs a full paint job, which isn’t happening, so a bit of a tidy up was the order of the day.
