Anyone heard anything about shiply.com for getting an old crock hauled from one part of the country to your doorstep. You give the pick-up and drop-off locations, then who I assume are legit businesses have a reverse auction to get your business and bring your new motor home for you.

 

So whilst getting a bit excited about this honey

I came across this particular site, and it seems I can get this thing transported up to my part of the world for £170 something quidlings- seems quite a reasonable price when I do not have the means of getting the heap here myself.

 

Most firms I have trawled the web for seem to charge a £1/mile, which adds up to quite a bit of wedge.

 

I'm glad I can't affford my own beavertail...now that would lead to no end of amusing/baffling/pointless automotive purchases

I used Shiply to transport my old Impreza WRX from Northampton to South Norfolk last year. I was given three quotes, ranging from £85 to £105, so naturally I went for the cheaper one at £85. I recommend these guys highly

Saw someone on RR suggesting that you double-check that they are actually insured for transporting cars! Sounds a good system though - similar to www.cartransporterquoter.co.uk
