Also, the Prius - They munch Waterpumps, and if any of the electrickery bits go when the thing's out of warranty - like a Headlamp ECU (yup, the feckin headlamps have ECU's) You're looking at at least $1500 to fix it. Oh, and you might end up owning the car, but the batteries are always Toyota's. Bizarre.

Seen a Prius the other day with the rear lights not working on one side, bet thats got ECU's as well, sounds as bad as some VAG cars have microchips in the lamp bulbs (so you can only use 'VAG' bulbs)With electric cars arriving soon, you won't own the batteries, so have read you'll rent them from the manufacturer.

I've got the launch video for the Cayenne somewhere (on VHS, class) and it turns out they do off road rather well.

Really? A friend was telling me that they can only ford 2 inches more than a Daimler Sovereign
In the video they've got a Turbo with water over the bonnet and it seems to be doing rather well. The air suspension does all the same malarky a Rangie does, the steel sprung ones don't do as well though.I suppose the Cayenne will have similar off road issues to a Rangie Supercharged. i.e. 20" tyres with road tread aren't going to shift much mud.I'll dig the vid out and try and get it on YouTube.
