Picked up this great series on the 'bay last week, so i thought i'd share some choice cuts of shite from within. If you've not seen it you should track it down, one of my favourite bits of telly ever

GS, with what looks like a very early Beta in front.

beige Merc plus a tantalising glimpse of a Simca 1307 (note slight lack of concentration grabbing this one)

Polski-Fiat jobby that later dies in a ball of flame

I wish the world still looked like this...

more will follow as i watch it, it's 7 hours long so might take a while. or if this thread dies a death i wont bother. simple.

How do you take those stills? Do you pause it and take a snap? I've been watching some old Auf Weidersehen Pets with some charming shite.

In front of the GS is a Fiat 128 Sport Coupe

And I think that's a Fiat 124 Special

None other than tv's premier arm-waving scientist. Anyone who suggests making black pudding from human blood should not be forgotten.

crap.... you're right on both counts. The 128 really looks like a four-door saloon in the second pic. This is the worst place to make mistakes identifying cars, although in my (weak) defense both the Beta and 128 ceased production before i was even born so....

Without a doubt THE best spy series ever written! I bought the books, bought the videos (wore them out!) and bought the DVD set-fantastic! If you're into this stuff, Radio 4 are about to serialise "Tinker Taylor Soldier Spy" on Sunday afternoon. I read somewhere that the scenes of Czech street scenes were filmed in Budapest and the residential Czech parts in Glasgow.... but I might be wrong! There are some (slightly iffy!) DVD sets of "Game, Set and Match" around, too! We Wartburg drivers love all that stuff!

The best spy series ever might be pushing it, what about The Piglet Files?

I caught the first couple of Le Carre adaptations on R4 but then i missed a few, and i cant find anywhere i can download them. might catch t,t,t,s if they shove it on the iplayer. You're right about the Czech scenes being filmed in Scotland. I'm not familiar with Game, Set and Match, aren't they Len Deighton books rather the Le Carre? if so then i've read at least one of them...hopefully i'll pick up a copy of 'Edge of Darkness' soon which is another great BBC serial absolutely filled will chod.and i'm just gonna ignore 'the piglet files' Hirst.....

Apparently (so the internet rumour runs...) he didn't want them released on video or DVD, so those copies which are available are somewhat iffy copies from the T.V.-but worth it if you're addicted to that sort of stuff!
