Aldi A4 Convertible - Any good??

Been thinking about getting one of these for a while, and just wondered if anyone has any knowledge experience of them. (2004 ish)

Needs to be an Auto so wifey can drive it, so I believe needs to be a Quattro as they get "proper" auto box. I think the non Quattro get CVT.

Quite like the look of the 3.0 turbo diesel for the torque, but then is a diesel convertible a good combination.

Any thoughts?

they suffer from scuttle shake pretty bad as with most floppy tops but they arent a bad steer overall. As you say a 2.5 / 3.0 Quattro V6 dizzler will be a comfortable cruiser and no CVT box to shit itself, although the 2.5 TDI's arent very efficent - especially with the auto box - the 3.0 tdi are better but still pretty thirsty, your looking at 30mpg round the doors.

I've had a couple of 330cd e46 cabbys' nowt wrong with a dirty diesel cab imo , you just dont get that nice note when the roof's down , although the  v6 diesels dont make an unpleasant noise to be fair.

Scuttle also fills up with water and frizzles the body control module. Just like the Passat of the same generation does too.
