Talbot Solara shite

Came across an advert in a local antiques centre;

Talbot Solara Rapier, 1985, 39742 miles, new tyres, 1592cc, 1 previous owner, exceptional condition, £295 ovno

I shan't post the bloke's number on here but if anyone's interested email or PM me. He also seems to be breaking a Renault 4 and to have a number of Rover P6 spares.Thought of this place as soon as I saw the ad - what's more shite-worthy than a 2 tone blue Solara?

Well, the advert was in an antiques centre in Elsecar near Barnsley, so I would presume the car's in the South Yorkshire area. I can't be any more precise as the phone number given is a mobile and so lacks an area code.Thought I'd mentioned it in my original post, my apologies for not doing so.

ZOINKS. Though 'exceptional' condition does not guarantee good, could be exceptionally bad!!

Do you think it's the two tone blue, or the red over silver, or the REALLY eBay rare two tone green? Maybe it's two-tone beige and rust...........Excellent if it is...

It's blue. There was a pic, but it's terrible and my camera-phone hasn't helped...

I did ring the chap up about this. Apparently the chap selling it got it 2 years ago and its been in his garage ever since. He did try putting it through an MOT but it failed on a small amount of welding on the floor, but i suppose it depends on what your definition of 'small' is as to how bad this is. There were a couple of other minor points which i forget but dont think it was anything alarming.He was away with work for 3 weeks and by the time he got back i had gone and bought a GT6 instead (that common alternative to a Talbot Solara).Not sure if it is still there, but from speaking to him it sounds like its been up for sale for a while and Elsecar Antiques Centre as far as i know, is not the greatest advetising platform in the world.

I am sufficiently interested to make a half-arsed enquiry. Can you PM me the number?
