anyone want a '88 Daimler XJ40 for £120 - now sold

price dropped - have done another 500 trouble free miles in it since last week - car is now in Hertfordshire. I am collecting a '92 model in about 10 days and this one will have to go - offering it at scrap value but it is a goerall- I'll be 'offing' my '88 XJ40 Daimler in about a couple of weeks. I've done 5000 trouble free and high speed miles in it since buying it 6 weeks ago. I paid a bit too much for it. It's MOTd tillNovember and taxed for 5 months. It's done 180k to dategood bits -3.6 aluminium engine is great - doesn't miss a beat - gear box in excellent fettle as wellfull leather (needs a clean)sunroof (works and doesn't leak)full Daimler spec - leccy everything including:seats (heated as well)climate control (needs regassing - IF you can find the now banned gas!)walnut champagne tablessolid suspensionseriously quickstarts on the buttonOK bitsa few months MOT5 months taxtyres in OK nick - a few miles left in thembrakes will need looked at soonbodywork on the whole good but with some issues coming through including:large paint bubble at bottom of rear screena bit of bubbling at front nearside bonnet and at corner of rear offside wingwindscreen outer rubber seal has lost the chrome strip (I have this) and will need resittting and gluing - car is watertight though and amazingly for an XJ40 dry within (you can always tell by oxidising of internal chrome)the off side sill has been repaired at some pointthe wheel arches have been repaired as wellbad bits - other than described the inlet manifold blows a bit on idle - very common fault with these and not beyond the home mechanicbonnet struts not working (I use a wooden pole)I'll get some more info and pics up soon asAm selling because I am buying a slightly newer and more solid example for my daily motorway muncher (I do about 2k a week) If I keep this I will just run it into the ground.open to offers
