Freelander - Tyre issues

Well what started out as a small issue has turned into a real ball ache, that I have not yet got sorted.

I do actually love the car , even though its a facelift mk1 2.5 v6, it drives lovely and has never let me down.

Was aware of the matching tyres "requirement" on purchase, so was pleased to note that previous owner had 4 new tyres fitted all round.

Long story short, slow puncture on front tyre, which garage are unable to repair as is virtually on sidewall.

Now cant find any Nexen N6000 tyres in the correct size, and I'll probably need to buy two as a minimum so that tread depths are the same on the axle. (the spare that's on the car now is a Pirelli)

Have found a tyre on ebay that matches mine, and could possibly be around the same tread depth, so might end up going down that route. However its collection only and he's about 80 miles away.

So what I'd hoped was going to be a free repair with a voucher, is probably now going to be at least £140 or used tyre and about 4 hours of my time.  (then would be in the same boat again if ever get a puncture)

You gotta love Hippo's

Either buy a bottle of sealant and park it with the hole downwards or google major tyre repair vulcanisation and take it to the nearest place, sidewall damage is repairable, I can't imagine that won't be.

Fantastic, there is hope......

No-one that I can find local, but found one near my sons university.

Picking him up next weekend, so hopefully can get it repaired on route. (or just left, and picked up when he returns)

Thanks again. If they can do it I owe you a pint.

Spot on, thats the place I found.

Pretty close to Keele Uni, so hoping to pop in when I collect him.

Been looking on Google maps and cant find it though. Theres Stone garage with a load of trucks outside, but could not see Stone tyre repair.

It's down the back of the railway station which is quite tucked away.

I used them quite a few years ago when I had 17" 45profiles on a goober and the only tyre options were Michelin or Continental (Kerching!)6e141edaf8333c061138fa6e56981359.jpg
