Car failed (Bmw e36) emissions on CO2

It’s all sorted now and I give the garage their due they did everything possible to get it through the emissions.

They spent hours on it to get it through and it had codes checked and the exhaust refitted plugs out etc etc.

I was told of a little cheat for next mot though and that was to disconnect the MAF but I did fit an aftermarket cheapo cat from ecp about a year and a half ago so I guess that didn’t help matters.

The Ti is such a lovely nippy car to drive though and today I had about a 100 mile round journey in my Cabriolet which has the M43 fitted and it feels like the handbrake is stuck on as it’s just an old plodder compared to the M44 Ti .

I also have 4 nice new Toyo proxy’s on the old compact as well now and while I was down the garage a Z3 exactly the same as mine came in which looked a bit knackered and failed on £700 worth of work and apparently it looks like it’s scrap fodder luckily I wasn’t quick enough on the uptake as I might of bought it as well for a winter project if I found out it was up for grabs.

Unfortunately disconnected MAF will illuminate the MIL lamp, which is now a fail in its own right.

New MOT regs can be seen on the .gov website.

The E36 doesn't have one.
