Alas, timing chains are a big problem, and the CVT has a habit of going pop. Regular maintenance helps in both cases. RatDat wrote a 'how to' guide on the timing chain for Retro Japanese. Not the worst job in the world. Everyone says to avoid the CVT here in the UK, but there's an increasing voice saying there's nowt inherently wrong with them too.

Tbh I do a leisurely 80 km each way to work (NZ isn't known for fast driving) so I won't cane it and keep the revs in the low range and hopefully all Will be "sweet as"
