Buying and selling tin on ebay

Having bought and sold quite a few cars on ebay now as most of you have no doubt done so being fans of kit and shite. It occurs to me that when dealing in shite there are 2 types especially on ebay - I call them players and punters.The players you see are us - we're the ones who know that a 1990 XJ40 with terminal rot is worth a couple of hindred - punters - well = they are different - they are either sellers who think the same car is worth £1500 or buyers who think because they bought the car for £200 from you it should be showroom condition and you get nothing but grief,Ebay has particluar interest for me on this subject - we read a lot about punters and players who don't turn up to buiy cars and how awful it is etc. However, as torsten and i were discussing only the other day - what about when a car is bought blind and turns out to be far from as described - are you to shell out the winning bid to buy a pack of lies - of course you aren't but if you do this you stand the risk of being labled a timewaster and gain strikes through the ebay system- the appeals of which are wholly inadequate.Out of the 10 or so cars i have bought from ebay those I have bought from 'dealers' have always been pisspoor.what are your thoughts?

Well, I'm off to Surrey in the morning to collect the P5 I bought blind recently. If that's a steaming pile of hotspurs then I'm going to come back without it.I'm also off to Germany to collect a Mk2 Escort I've also bought blind, but I'll be coming back with that because it's saveable no matter how far its gone. It's a Mk2. It's worth spending cash on.I have a basic rule. If I sell a car I make sure its as right as can be reasonably expected. If I'd buy it for the money I'm asking then I'm happy. I'm not going to spend £1500 painting a £1500 car and then flog it for £1500, that's foolish, but there are people out there who expect exactly that..
