I've never put Selenia in any Twin Spark.  Mainly because it will be consumed well before the next oil change anyhow and will get topped up with whatever is handy from Londis

Didn't even put it in the Busso in the Alfa 6 and that was as valuable as Titanic artifacts

Selena oil is made by Petronas so I would imagine not any different to the stuff ECP knock out on special occasionally. I suspect the factory doesn't have a section called "Fiat special stuff" where only the finest and most talented hydrocarbon engineers are allocated.

As always, once you know the spec it isn't hard to find cheaper branded oils that meet that spec. The local Fiat dealer munt on at me how Selenia is especially created for Fiats unique engine technology and prefer to believe it isnt made by a Malaysian oil giant but instead hand pressed from purest virgin crude oil by the peasant farmers of Naples.

I would roll an Alfa. As mentioned, it is mechanical bits bolted together so can be unbolted and replaced if need be. I do think the 147 is a bit better looking and they are sooooo cheap

The best thing about a 156 is you'll appreciate it was built at the Alfasud plant in the south by staff who's fathers were drunk farmers.

Even more reason to buy one

Petronas bought in 2007, but apparently

Selenia Lubrificanti is a trademark of the group FL Italia (founded by FIAT in 1912), producing from 4 factories located in Europe and Latin America:

I stand corrected! It appears it is still made in Italy rather than Malaysia. However it is still made by Petronas, but maybe they do have a different formulation for Italy?

Either way, Lots of high quality lower cost alternatives to it no matter where it's made!
