Petrol in a diesel

I remember during the fuel shortage around 1999-2000 time cars breaking down everywhere as they couldn't get the fuel they needed so just filled with what ever was available at the time. It kept many local garages in business for weeks.

Didn't do my 1.9 Ulysee any harm . Bit of fresh veg, bit of petrol splash of paraffin , the odd tank of cherry. Whatever it took to keep me earning. Don't know what the long term effects were mind, I chopped it in at 3 years old.

An ex gf did this to her hdi Picasso, drove it till it stopped, recovery , drain and refuel, all ok for a week then the injector seals started chuffing away.

 

Might not be related of course.
