1989 Talbot Express Cambelt Info needed

My current boss is trying to find a cambelt kit for his Talbot camper van, however, he draws a blank wherever he turns.

I tried it myself, with the same result.

It's a 1989 Talbot Express based van with the 1,971 cc petrol engine. I think the engine is a PSA170.

More likely a PSA 180B IIRC. Most of the petrols in Talbots were. It's the same 2l engine as used in the 504? Again IIRC.

Basically the same lump as the 504 etc,but  the van engines were tuned for torque over bhp so some minor changes were made. From the data I've seen they were all given PSA 170B C or D.

Anyway, I've seen it now and yes, it's chain.

Needs tappets adjusting, though, makes quite a racket.

Thanks @ all for the info!

It's all on line but Cobblers has the manual for these, it's in the camper I sold him. The tappets are dead easy to do.

I'd offer to scan the relevant pages but I put my foot through the scanner a few months back. If you struggle to find it online I could take photos!

I love the way a Talbot built in late eighties still sounds like a Talbot from the early part of the previous decade. Nothing changes!
