barefoot Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 I'm sure I guessed 73.6 - but as well as a devil, I am also a bit of a liar. Well done, I remember a long time ago running a Cavalier 2 completely dry to see how far it would go.Died coming over Clifton Bridge on the outskirts of Nottingham. Not ideal, but I used to be a bit of a twat too.
CreepingJesus Posted May 16, 2017 Posted May 16, 2017 Great result, when all's said and done. I know well of the cruise control debate and its' pros and cons, but I can't imagine the minor variations in technique would make much difference in a car. Maybe in trucks and buses, but not in something that's supping fumes to begin with!Is the cruise in that one of those irritating eco bastards, that back off the throttle as they approach target speed?
davidfowler2000 Posted May 16, 2017 Author Posted May 16, 2017 I don't know what you speak of regarding the eco-cruise control. Mines approaches the target speed quite gently from either direction rather than hitting a wall. I'd say it will use a max of about 75% throttle to accelerate then gently ease off on approach to the target. Similarly if the target is below current speed it will gradually feed in the throttle as it approaches.
