106 immobilized HELP?

Didn't that 405 have a similar issue, Ben? Seem to remember that was starter related

 

The problem with the 405 is that the ignition switch doesn't always deliver 12v to the starter solenoid.  A thick red wire was attached to the solenoid to flick on the +ve terminal,  this has been improved on with a longer thinner wire to flick onto the ciggie ligher with similar effect but without lifting the bonnet.  I did buy a switch but couldn't find a way to neatly install it.
