Excuse the use of that awfully wanky phrase...

But...

I'm trying to get insurance on something that is, quite arguably, a classic.  I know the lines are blurred now - is there someone I can talk to who'll look at the whole market (both classic and standard motor) and get prices on my behalf?

I'm both tired of comparison sites and the usual classic insurers - plus not that happy on soft footprint after footprint going on my file.

Hope y'all can help.

Peter Best worked for me. I've got two 75s with them, one on a normal policy (funnily enough the older of the two cars), and one on a classic policy. All in for <£300

Name it. Goawn!

Unfortunately, there's no quick and easy way to do this. It involves lots of legwork, long phone calls and stress.

I'm going to suggest Quote Searcher https://www.quotesearcher.co.uk/classic-car-insurance/classic-car-insurance-form/

You bung in the basic details then the interested companies phone you for the fine stuff. This means that (hopefully) they should only call if they are insuring the particular vehicle that you own.

I knocked in my Datsun details and got about 8 call backs within the hour.

I cannot praise Footman James highly enough.

I have the 7 Series on a classic policy for about 80 quid, and the 320i on the same policy for the same again. They're decent to deal with as well.
