RoadworkUK Posted April 4, 2017 Posted April 4, 2017 I hope that it helped to stop the distraction of misdirected advice. Ben Ben Ben Shame that, between my misguided attempt to help and your condemning me for it, between us we've totally fucked this thread for everybody. Sorry. You're now the first person to ever go on my ignore list. Felicity Kendall.
RustyNuts Posted April 4, 2017 Author Posted April 4, 2017 Is it a turbo ? No! .. But no harm wishing right?! But the OP also "mentioned" that the mayo was not in the water or oil. Ben Mayo is under the oil cap on the engine.. so technically yes it is forming in the oil... but there is no oil in the coolant tank.. which keeps dropping. Ben and Felicity you shouldn't be arguing over an old safrane - its not worth it lol. No need to ignore each other.. you were both trying to help.
RoadworkUK Posted April 5, 2017 Posted April 5, 2017 I have tried to PM an apology to RoadworkUK but: "The member RoadworkUK has chosen to not receive any new messages from you" Cheers Ben, I've done the same, having blocked your apology! On with the show. RustyNuts 1
RustyNuts Posted April 5, 2017 Author Posted April 5, 2017 Hope you get to the bottom of the problem. Ben Thanks Ben. Toolconnection got a replacement compression tester to me today via overnight courier so I should be able to perform a reliable compression test at some point in the next few days.
twosmoke300 Posted April 6, 2017 Posted April 6, 2017 Running for a few mins then stalling / blue smoking suggests a blocked or incorrectly fitted crankcase breather
3VOM Posted April 8, 2017 Posted April 8, 2017 It won't be the PCV or breather as i did those on this engine just before it came out of the donor car (that was in 2013.. but its not been used since). Anyhow the parts were all cleared / replaced.Following on from twosmoke's comment, and I'm not trying to be derogatory, but are you sure you got everything back together correctly and is the donor fully compatible with your car?
