Van tax rates, anyway of finding out?

I'm thinking of getting an 04 plate citroen van powered by a 90bhp hdi engine. Is there anyway of finding out the tax rates for these, can;t ask owner as he's not responding to questions over xmas period. Was pleasantly surprised how cheap van insurace was compared to car insurance. my mate suggested today about looking into some form of trade insurance with 3 vehicles soon to be on the fleet, is this possible?

I've read that goverment form and it all depends on wether its euro 4 compliant. That's the bit I can't find out unfortunately. Its not a deal breaker but it would be nice if it was only 140 a year to tax instead of £230. A search on the usual sites just lists the two different tax rates and states it depends on euro 4 bit. Seems strange you can't determine it as easy as you can with a car.

I think you can reasonably assume it won't be Euro 4 and you'll be paying the £230 rate. If that pdf from DVLA is right, which information on the .gov.uk domain rarely is.

I have the reg, whats the vca website? Reg is VE04FZL.

DVLA's MOT enquiry thinks that's a Citroen Xsara, the Vehicle Enquiry gives its emissions as 0g/km and the actual rate of tax is a secret. Not good enough.

Yep been on there. It's a citroen xsara enterprise van.

totalcarcheck.co.uk. Don't need to pay anything, put your plate in and it tells you how much it cost to tax. No idea if it's accurate though.

Thats one of the ones I've tried, gives the results below which are a bit inconclusive. I'm going with it being the full fat road tax

Road Tax and Registration Road Tax 12 Months £230 (£140 if Euro-4) Road Tax 6 Months £126.50 (£77 if Euro-4) Registration Date 01 Jun 2004 Vehicle Age 12 years 6 months CO₂ Emissions No data available Manufactured Year 2004

That £140 VED was put in to encourage early take up of euro1V and didn't last long i'm sure the dates are on that Gov site, chances of finding a euro1V van in that banding in the right time of registration is slim.
