alfetta Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 Been trying to get the DVLA to pull their finger out to get me a new V5c, 25 quid and 3-5 days over phone they say. Been nearly a month now. Sadly the owner (friend) who lost the V5 didn't SORN either (bout 6 monthsuntaxed) so I can't see me getting the document any time soon. Any chance I can tax without the V5? If I go to the dvla site it states: You may be able to tax this vehicle at a Post Office Branch that deals with vehicle tax without the V5C registration certificate. Really I should have registered in my name from the start, but I thought it would be quicker if the owner applied directly to obtain new log book.
Dave_Q Posted October 15, 2016 Posted October 15, 2016 You can, but the official procedure is to do a v62 at the post office and pay the 25 there, doing it all at once. Not sure how they will cope with the v5 being in process at Doovla, probably best to go and ask at a post office.
