Newark Autojumble

I haven't been to this for years - I could go on Sunday, but it's a fair trip for me - and the Facebook page has a lot of people moaning about traffic, admission prices and (most importantly) saying half of it is car boot crap and people selling plants - i.e. no different from most car boots I could go to.  Anyone here been recently?

At present I am leaning towards being a moaning old git and staying at home.

I last went in 2009 and it was shit. Too much motorbike junk, new old stock A60 air filters in battered boxes, overpriced burgers, NOS Corsair wings priced at 76% of what a Corsair is actually worth and I'm sure the MER polish bloke was there setting fire to a red Mini bonnet.

A victim of its own past success alas, but you might enjoy it and get lucky.

Oooh, buying parts for cars one doesn't own!

That's always great fun.

The Newark one was terminally shit last time we went.

Planning on going to Newark.  Day out, buy nothing except a cheese burger, earn the right to moan next time it comes around how shit it was last time.  Sounds great.  Newark Air museum is worth a look round too if you're bored of the autojumble.

(Well, it isn't really, but its full of the aerospace equivalent of autoshite, mainly old british chod, from the two you might be able to make an almost tolerable day)

Ahem, went to the Air Museum last time so probably not due another visit there yet.  Not sold on the Autojumble from what everyone's had to say so far.  At this rate I may have to try and get the engine and box back in the ZT instead.

There's an auction next door that sells some right old tat.

Maybe I should start another thread entitled "which autojumble can I go to next weekend that isn't going to be a waste of time?"

I went to Newark earlier in the year and found it pretty shit. A few interesting (crap) cars for sale, though, which meant it wasn't a total wasted journey. Came away empty handed, though.
