Been offered a 1957 Hillman Minx; a series 1, which makes no sense but that's 1390cc I believe.

It's fairly tidy and shouldn't take too much to get it on the road. 4 speed column change.

Anyone here have any knowledge/experience of such an aged piece of chod?

1390cc is the first of the OHV engines, so won't be quick but will be a darn sight more useable than the earlier sidevalve cars.  I've had a couple of Series Minxes and they're thoroughly competent cars, if a little unexciting.  Mechanically quite strong too, although the column shift isn't the best I've ever used.  Oh, and they rot.
