lovejoy Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 and, perhaps, Another one for Mr.Bickle ? (though not quite in the same class.....! )with a few island modifications.....
Guest Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Lovin that 12, looks like a failed embryonic Max Power project...Quad Conversions dont do an Afterburner light cluster kit for your 1970s Renault? No problem, just bosh on a bit of flat plastic and a pair of circular lamps nicked off some old British tat :)Seats also look stolen out of something else but cant tell what, headrests more Japanese than French?

MrRegieRitmo Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Where does that 12 live with it's British plates?
lovejoy Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Ha Ha ha !!! I have been waiting, just waiting, to post that pic at a suitable time, i KNEW it would raise some frivolity amongst you guys, can't wait for Nige to spot it... and comment....This 12 Estate was my FIFTEENTH ! ( am I a sucker,or what ) and is the ONLY one of the 15 that I never got to run.It was built in CASABLANCA (found a note in the glovebox that said "here's looking at you, kid", but can't quite make out the signature), and it was shipped to where it is as a Unicef vehicle, in a pale gray color.Odd version, in that it has early wheels with NO centre holes, so can't put them on a tire fitter's machine, should have early stainless center hubcaps, fitted at rear with 205 -60's !!! Early dashboard too, 3 dials, but later indicators in bumpers. (could be a Moroccan run-out model)Local enterprising bods (a bit like Cuba here....) fitted Golf rear bumper section, Hillman Imp rear lites, I fitted Daihatsu Charage G11 headrests, fit perfectly, and those cars are one of my weaknesses too, am I a real saddo, or what ?Don't answer that !Just as a postscript, the other 14 x 12 Estates were run/used FAULTLESSY in Zimbabwe /South Africa / UK, great for sleeping in on the road up to the mighty greasy Limpopo, with monkeys trying to nick your provisions through 1" gaps at the top of the windows !!!!No prizes, this time, for working out where it is..... more africanized shite to come, things just take " a little longer" out hereLovejoyantiques
nigel bickle Posted March 21, 2009 Posted March 21, 2009 Nice Chris.Brian's old12 should hopefully be 'out'this Spring....
