Sorry for lack of updates,first proper collection thread! At Woodall services now so nearly home. Put a tenner in it and sat at 70 all way back for 90 mile and light still not on. Very impressed

I got 135 miles for £20 and then the fuel light went on so stuck another £15 in and got home with some fuel to spare. Top swapper etc would swap again...

I really like the 440 so think it's probably going to be a keeper...

Glad you got home ok and like the car. Can anyone help me out with a question though,when I put lights on on the xantia the tell tale for fogs at rear comes on but switch for fogs is off. The bulb doesn't light up so either bulb removed or something is amiss. Thanks.

I've sussed it. The wiring harmed going to the lights on the tailgate has a problem. If I wiggle the rubber tube of wires then the number plate lights and second lot of tail lights come on and fog light on dash goes out. A break somewhere I think. Any previous owners shed light please?

I will prove you all wrong and keep it for more than a month... Mainly because I know that nobody will ever want to buy it but also because I've always liked the early 440.

Exactly that Bub. There is a break somewhere in harness for tailgate.

 

If you half open the tailgate if fixes itself.

I can't drive with boot half up though! I'm pleased you like the Volvo. It's a comfy motor
